Description

This course provides an introduction and review of probability theory and statics, with an emphasis on the application in the engineering field. Course topics include descriptive statistics, various probability distributions, hypothesis tests, confidence intervals, and statistical modeling.

Objective

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
• Explain fundamental concepts and theory in probability and statistics
• Identify appropriate distributions to represent the population being analyzed
• Apply knowledge of statistical concepts to assess various datasets
• Perform statistical inference processes such as hypothesis testing and regression models
• Estimate and describe relationships between independent and dependent variables
