To ensure the safety of all HISS participants, the HISS team kindly asks you to follow the guidelines of the Korean Government. Below is a brief introduction to the entry procedure. Based on your visa type, your entry procedure may differ, therefore, please consult the Korean Embassy or Consulate for more detailed information before your departure.
Fully-Vaccinated Foreigners (K-ETA & D-2-8)
Arrivals who have been vaccinated from abroad will be able to receive an exemption from quarantine if they submit a certificate of vaccination and register their vaccination history to the Q-Code system.
Eligibility for quarantine exemption: Those who have completed their third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or received two doses (one dose for Janssen) at least 14 days prior but within 180 days.
*2nd and 3rd PCR Tests would be offered by Public Health Center for free. **Government facility: Approximately KRW 100,000 ~ 150,000 per day.
Unvaccinated Long-term Stay Foreigners (D-2-8)
Students who hold a D-2-8 visa will be allowed to quarantine at their own accommodation. In this case, students are responsible for their own meal plans, transportation from the airport to the accommodation, and all the PCR tests.
For students who don’t have proper housing for quarantine, the HISS team will provide a list of quarantine facilities. The cost for the quarantine would be around KRW 900,000 (7-day quarantine, all-inclusive).
