HYLION: Hanyang Learning, Innovation, and Outreach Network

HYLION is an exclusive, premium extension of the HISS, designed for students who seek a truly global perspective. This innovative five-week program combines the full HISS experience in Korea with an additional, immersive week in Tokyo, Japan. It offers a unique multi-country journey where students explore the dynamic intersections of business, technology, and culture across East Asia’s two most influential nations.

After concluding the four-week HISS program in Korea, HYLION participants will fly to Tokyo to engage in an academic and cultural residency. In collaboration with Waseda University, one of Japan’s most prestigious institutions, students will attend special guest lectures and participate in cultural explorations. This program allows students to compare the traditions and modern advancements of both Seoul and Tokyo firsthand.

Please note that to ensure personalized academic support and a seamless travel experience, admissions are capped at 100 students on a first-come, first served basis based on payment completion.

HYLION Exculsive Benefits

  • All-Inclusive Accommodation: High-quality housing is provided for the entire five-week duration (both in Korea and Japan)
  • Comprehensive Travel Support: To ensure a seamless experience, HYLION includes flights from Seoul to Jeju, and from Jeju to Tokyo.
  • Academic Excellence & Recognition: Upon successful completion, students will receive an official Certificate of Completion and an exclusive Digital Badge, a verifiable credential to showcase their global competence on professional platforms like LinkedIn.

Important Note on Program Conclusion

The HYLION 2026 Program officially concludes in Tokyo, Japan. To allow maximum flexibility for students who wish to extend their stay in Japan, travel to other international destinations, or return home at their convenience, return flights from Tokyo are not provided. Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation from Tokyo after the program ends.

HYLION is more than just a study abroad program; it is a multi-dimensional bridge between two cultures. It is the ideal choice for ambitious students looking to gain a competitive edge and an unforgettable international experience this summer.

In general, students from a country or region where Korea has a visa-waiver agreement may participate in Hanyang International Winter School with the K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization). You may check your eligibility by visiting the K-ETA website.
